sterling oak and CCF2 development on North Van Dyke Avenue Sterling Heights

As previously posted, there will be a City Council-requested update on the development status of the CCF2 property on North Van Dyke. It appears on the Tuesday, December 16, 2025 Council Meeting Agenda under the City Manager’s Report Item D.

City Council Meetings are held at the Sterling Heights City Hall council chambers, 40555 Utica Rd, Sterling Heights, MI, starting promptly at 7:00 pm. The City Manager’s reports are typically the first item, but the comment portion from citizens follows later.

If you plan to attend, remember to be respectful and factual. There is plenty of information and history throughout this site, but short thought starters will be posted later. If you have any questions, please post them below. Please subscribe to email updates to be notified when the thought-starters are posted — likely Sunday or Monday.

Thank you for your continued interest in saving the Sterling Oak and this unique green space of wetlands, old trees, and floodplain habitat in Sterling Heights. Share this post with friends who may be interested.

Exciting progress! I spoke with Liz S and she said flipping her vote (in order to destroy the Sterling Oak) was a huge regret. Thank you for the update!

    1. Unfortunately, the update prompted very little to no discussion out of City Council.
